My Services

My Approach

I am a fully registered member of the BACP. I work as an integrative counsellor, supporting adults, children and young people. I adapt and adjust my therapeutic work according to the individual need of each client. Part of this can be working creatively, if this suits the client.
Collaboratively we can work with the 'here and now' (presenting issues) or look at patterns formed from our past experiences.
I will guide you, and sometimes challenge to self reflect on the issues that are concerning you, but
ultimately I am led and work at the clients pace.
I am passionate about working with children and young people. This stems from my other role as a school counsellor.
I have experience of working with a range of issues including;
anxiety, depression, bereavement, anger issues, trauma, eating disorders, self harm, suicidal ideation, emotional stress related gender or sexual identity, addiction, sexual and domestic abuse.

At the heart of my work is accepting, and valuing my clients precisely as they are without judgement, criticism or evaluation, by understanding and seeing their world through their eyes, with empathy.

The focus of my work is establishing a connection with my clients, to build a deeper level of trust, within a safe and confidential space.

I believe by providing this foundation will help clients to feel empowered and motivated to find their own solutions and answers within. Sometimes this can feel frustrating for the client but I believe when we find our own answers within, they have more meaning.

Trusting your internal instinct, and building your own resilience.

It can be hard for children and young people to open up. How they process emotional experiences and thoughts can be difficult to put into words. This is why I often use creative activities to help access their feelings along with talking therapy.

Working creatively can help children and young people to make sense of what they are experiencing. Whether it is difficult thoughts and emotions, negative patterns of behaviour or repressed trauma.

By expressing emotion through the creative process children and young people are able to understand themselves better and make sense of their world. Which therefore, allows them to be more in tune with themselves.

Through my role as a school counsellor I have experience of working with challenging issues and behaviour.

All information discussed in the sessions remain confidential, unless the child or young person agrees for it to be shared.In exceptional circumstances where I have concern about safeguarding issues, relevant information will be shared.

I am fully DBS checked.
